“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
When a new outbreak of an ancient evil—one that Cade has seen before—comes to light, he and his human handler, Zach Barrows, must track down its source. The President suspects the threat might have ties to a high-level defense contractor—a private, Blackwater-like security force whose hired mercenaries who take a very dim view of being forced to work with the President’s men. To “protect and serve” often means settling old scores and confronting new betrayals . . . as only a century-old predator can.
I think that words fail to describe the extent that I loved Blood Oath. For me it was a delicious treat that showed vampires how I want to see them and I can’t recommend the book enough. (I recently clicked on the online store and the shirt that says, “Humans Food Not Love”? I want it in the pink long sleeved version.) I had a difficult time putting that book down once I picked it up and am happy to list it among my favorite reads of 2010. So naturally I couldn’t wait for the next book in the series to come out! Nathaniel Cade is perhaps everything I could want in a vampire. I look forward to his exploits in this follow-up.
According to Amazon the release date is April 28th. That gives me time to read through some of the books languishing on my shelves before I neglect the rest in favor of vampires again. Although that’s going to happen anyway with the release of the epic conclusion to The Strain Trilogy later this year . . . 2011 may be another good year for vampire books as I also have volumes two and three of The Vampire Archives to finish.
The premise alone should be enough to intrigue people to pick up this series!
